Ocarina is still the best overall package for a 3D Zelda game, no gimmicks, no crazy one-off shit. Twilight Princess would have taken its place because it does pretty much everything right and the presentation is fantastic, but the wolf parts ruined any chance of GOAT status

Skyward sword is arguably a bad zelda but hardly a bad game. TP is too formulaic, bland and soulless. Bosses too easy with stupid mechanics and too scripted, story too stupid/overly complicated without adding anything of value compared to the beauty in simplicity of oot. Ugly, expressionless, uninteresting characters, too much handholding/tutorial, world design even more obviously showing technical limitations than n64 games, pointless wolf transformation, idiotic filler gameplay that isn't skippable (collecting those stupid orbs as a wolf).

Sometimes I think about replaying Twilight Princess. Then I fap to shortstack and the desire passes.

It's shitty motion controls that don't work. Only three areas that you can go to (one of which is a fucking desert that is awful to traverse due to the quicksand mechanic). Needing an item to swim underwater (others suffer from this as well). Fighting the imprisoned three fucking times. Fighting the demon fuck three times, two of which are pretty much the same fucking fight. Having to travel into that vortex just to be able to learn the songs needed to complete the trials. The trials themselves that are the same thing 4 times in a row (variety would fix this). And a personal gripe is bosses and enemies that require stabbing. Skyward sword was still fun but it is my least favorite Zelda that I've played. Demise is the best final boss though.

Man I don't know what the hell you guys are talking about. I recently played Twilight Princess for the first time and I don't agree at all. All the Twilight Princess hate I've seen us silly and completely contradicts my experience.

Twilight Princess's mid to late game is really good but its early game is inexcusable. Its tutorial is just as bad as Skyward Sword's, the wolf segments are a drag, and you have little freedom to actually explore. It feels like they switched to an entirely different dev team post Master Sword.

My opinion of Twilight Princess skyrocketed when I replayed it recently. I don't think this was because of the years since I originally played it though. I think it was because I was playing the GCN version instead of the Wii with those stupid ass waggle controls.
