Just spam towards and light attack, you don't have to learn timing. If you're spamming it, raiden should parry as soon as their attack animation starts

Just towards him and +attack at the same time, or attack and jump for that dodge. I suck at every hack'n'slash but I made this look easy

All I did was keeping running in circle and use the heavy slide attack, shit was a piece of cheese

Your error is that you are trying to play properly.

Just parry.

The entire game is just holding the analog stick towards your enemy and spamming light attack; an ability that does damage and parries attacks.
I steamrolled the entire fucking game using JUST that.
The only time I even needed to learn how to dodge was when the gorilla things 4/5ths into the game appear.
Worse yet I didn't learn to aim the naruto slow-mo until the final boss fight because it's so spammable.

I was holding toward not tapping it.

My friends are idiots, this game is one of the easiest pieces of shit I've ever played. I hate Japanese games.
Worse yet they tried to tell me I didn't really beat it because I didn't beat it on revengance. I was like, mother fuckers are you stupid? 1. It was locked until I beat hard. 2. this game isn't worth a second playthrough.
I didn't even buy anything the entire game, not a single upgrade, because I was saving for the mgs1 sword, which I only got right before the final boss fight.

I was like you when I started playing, I couldn't even get past the fucking Gecko's without getting a game over.

First I thought to play it stealthy but kept fucking it up, then I just tried to fight people using Zandatsu, but kept dying.

Eventually I looked up a video on it, telling myself that if the video doesn't show me what I'm doing wrong then I'll just give up.

Turned out I was playing the game fucking awfully. I didn't know there was a way to parry because I just ignored it when it was told to me in the tutorial nor a shop to buy items from. Once I followed the first bits of advice that video gave me, the game became A LOT more fun and manageable.

Seriously, give the video a watch and try again, it'll tell you shit that you're probably missing or not being able to do.

Was gonna post that exact video. I was stuck dyign to those gorilla guys i nthe sewers like a million times and just thought 'I have to be playing this wrong somehow, this feels absolutely terrible' so I googled some and found that video.

Turns out I was. Figured out what the parry was about and had a blast going through the rest of the game. Their LP's are also pretty fun to watch as well.
