It's really great. I don't know what else to say OP. My complaint isn't about the roster. A game is a game first, story second. So who cares about the minutiae of it. That said, I wish they had done something to entice you to keep playing it after Cia. I think I only played 1 level of the Ganondorf part, because it felt like a side story, even though he's the main villain.

As I as, it's the best part, but I disagree with Sakurai being lazy. That has more to do with him working on a thousand other things in the game and also leaving a main's move set alone. Laziness implies Smash 4 was something simple and easy to make. Ganondorf getting a new moveset as even a seperate slot simply isn't ever going to be a priority because that's not on the high list of demands from the fans compared to adding new characters or fixing tripping, or adding this or that. Ganondorf is a well known Nintendo villain, yes, but he's in the game, and it's good enough for people to shut the fuck up when everyone is to busy demanding waifus and guest characters.

I have the Wii U version and never bought any of the DLC, so it's all just a confusing mess as to how I'm supposed to get all of the content. Apparently there's characters that you have to buy the 3DS port and use the code in the box to play them in the console version.

The initial focus on only TP, OoT, and SS kind of sucked. It got a lot better with the DLC. To me the only characters I can think of that should be in but aren't are Linebeck and Groose, maybe Byrne from ST as a stretch. There's also Vaati but he was in Minish Cap, a Capcom game, so that might be why. It's a damn shame they can't pull from the Oracles, though. Eagerly awaiting Hyrule Warriors Xtreme Legends Ultimate Super Edition for Nintendo Switch™ if only because it'll probably have Breath of the Wild content.
