He doesn't have to work hard to get stronger and there is never any suspense when he fights. That's the point. The entire point of the parody is he is the strongest. Its a parody of the heroes journey, where the hero has to grow in strength and ability to overcome challenges. Saitama took that journey already when he trained himself.

That's the joke. He is the end result of the hero's journey. He is unbeatable strong, so much so that there is no challenge in any fight. It is the entire premise of the series. If he were to fight someone stronger than he is, then he would need to become stronger, which is the exact thing that the series is a parody of.

He's been squished, punched, and flung just about everywhere and came back without a scratch (except his clothes). The only person who can put up a fight is one that can exploit invincibility and/or extreme amounts of damage.

A couple contenders I have are Wukong (invincible) and Banshee (does enough damage to break the damage counter, causes it to overflow) from Warframe. Wukong can last more than one punch and Banshee will get obliterated in one punch but if she can keep away long enough to get a hit on a Sonar ping she can -probably- hurt him. But the issue with these is that they're in conflicting universes where things work differently. How would you pick which debuffs affect or don't affect him? Because you can very easily turn the tide of the game with that. How do you gauge effectiveness of powers? It's a copout.
