Is anyone else legit worried about arkane?
Seems like with the sales of dishonored 2 and prey it won't be long before bethesda sics them on an open world game or hero shooter
Yeah, it sucks, but at least they left on two high notes.

good, i hated Dishonored
>>385429240
Not really, they'll keep making good games and I doubt they'd agree to make a MOBA or whatever. It feels like they've only just gotten started doing what they're doing, exploring high agency games (preferably first-person) for a new era. Or immersive sims or whatever you want to call it.

I wouldn't be too mad about arkane doing an open world game. Prey was basically open world but they filled it with enough shit to keep in interesting. I think they can make a fallout better than bethes, and return it back to its grittier roots as well.

The founder already left, you can now expect lower quality games.
>>385430912
Too hard for you?
>>385429240
There's the Death of the Outsider coming out, I think they would have cancelled it if things were really dire.
>>385431398
nope?
>>385429240
Their fault for using denuvo.
>>385431398
>acting like Dishonored wasn't easy as fuck
>>385431398
too bland
>>385429240
They deserve it though. Making such a shit port for the PS4 is just incompetence.
Nothing of value will be lost. The wheel will turn.

Prey is pretty far from being open world when the majority of the content is gated behind story progression.
It's pseudo-open world at best which is totally fine. Most open world games are complete garbage anyways and Prey was actually a fun game.

Didn't they announce death of the outsider in the same quarter that Prey was released?
The extra Dishonored content was probably already incredibly close to being finished considering they've already been working on it for over a year.
I tried both Dishonored 2 and Prey and stopped playing about 2 hours in both times.
Why aren't they grabbing me like Dishonored did?
They just seems dull.
>>385432047
Don't assume the port is the only thing that had issues.
>>385432357
Sure, but if Dishonored 2 had performed poorly I doubt they would have greenlit it to begin with.
>>385432615
Right, I was just saying it probably had nothing to do with Prey's success.
They must have a pretty close attachment to the Dishonored IP to greenlight another project after the abysmal launch that was D2
>>385432615
Not really. Did you know that they often plan out DLC before the main game is even out? It's a way to keep people working who otherwise sit around doing nothing. And a way to monetize games beyond the first month.
Deus Ex mankind divided got its last piece of DLC when the series was already cancelled.
neo-prey and dishonored 2 are bad games, so I'm not upset if they get dissolved.

dissolved sounds like a great spiritual successor to dishonored.
