I just started playing again and in silver. I feel like I should just go Guile to prove I can get gold. Instead, I'm trying to play too honest. Focusing on improving my fundamentals and taking turns. It's just not a fun game, anon. Each fighter's game plan is ludicrously simple and repetitive.

I got to ultra gold in the first month or so after release (when the only plat in existence was TS_Sabin) using Mika and Birdie and it was just such a fucking slog.

I hated all the DLC characters and then they removed one of the few fun things in the game (Mika midscreen bounce) and I abandoned ship.

I don't know why Capcom keeps thinking they can get away with having cheap and untested devs and FGC community members who have no experience beyond testing design mainline franchise games.

Put some fucking money into your employees and you'll get some games that aren't total dogshit, Capcom.

I dropped SFV, but I also dropped SFIV when I picked up SFV, and have no interest in going back to a game that is only marginally better than SFV, and hit it's peak during SSFIV. OP didn't say he was broken, he said he was boring. On top of that he has a few points, Guile is literally too good at keeping people out. If you try to apply too much pressure he flash kicks and runs away, if you respect his space after hitting him he just activates his V-trigger and pushes you the whole screen away, if you try to jump his projectiles he has three different anti airs in Down heavy, forward heavy, and flashkick. Even if you do get in on him it's not like he's particularly weak in the close game, he has decent damaging combos that give him extra space. He also has incredibly powerful long range crush counter pokes. He's basically the definition of "Low risk high reward"
