I haven't played Splatoon 2 or the Switch at all to be entirely honestly. But I've used Gyro across my Vita, Dualshock 4 on PC, Steam Controller, my 3DS, and on my WiiU

Gyro aiming is an objective improvement over twinstick aiming. Like, it's not even a competition. The moment you try Gyro you get access to turning unfettered by a speed cap so you can make quick reactions AND it's more accurate, so as long as you use the sticks for most of the turning and use gyro for small adjustments to your shot it's top tier.

Dunkey as a person is an ok guy but as a youtuber he's a fucking retarded/shameless (not sure which) goon who will say just about anything for views and his fanbase are retards who don't realize that is what's happening.

As a Dunkey fan and as someone who owns and enjoys Splatoon 2 I can say that Dunk missed the mark on his video. I can understand where he's coming from - I don't like gyro aiming myself, nor do I use it, but it's the optimal choice for high level play. I can also admit that the game has barely enough content to warrant a sequel, but at the same time, Splatoon 1 had a much smaller playerbase due to being on the Wii U, which allowed Nintendo to add less content than they could've as many new players would buy the game due to the Switch's larger amount of owners, although some more maps on launch would be appreciated.

However, the rest of his critique of the game is flawed; for example is comment about 'overpowered weapons' is barely relevant, as a metagame has barely developed and thus, no-one knows what works the best. The aerospray is the first thing that comes to mind when people think of strong weapons, but it's just a scrubstomper weapon - you can easly outrange it with the slosher, charger and other shooters and outdamage it with the blaster. I can admit that shooting weapons are very present in ranked mode, but the first patch to the game has nerfed many of them by increasing the amount of turf they need to cover to get their specials up.

The main problem with his review is that he doesn't talk about the other modes. He never mentions salmon run, ranked or the single-player campaign, thus leading to his review of the game to be extremely limited, as he went into little depth about the game's overall content. This review is almost hypocritical after coming off the back of his critique of game critics as he mentioned how critics barely play any of the game they review. The worst part is that he failed to attack some of the legitimate problems that the game has, such as salmon run being on a rotation or the small amount of maps at launch (although the amount of maps we have is much better than Splatoon 1's launch). Blogpost over.
