Berserk is one of the easiest classes to play, and also one of the best.

Why would you run away? Your job on HoE is to occupy fps with parries. They always spawn enraged so SS can't freeze them right away and when 4+ spawn at once the team can't always rely on a lone SS anyway.

At first I was disappointed by KF2, but the game grew on me incredibly. The updates have made it better over time, and its pretty fuckin' good now.

People who bitch and moan about shit like Martial Artist are idiots. How was that shit ever gonna work? Different fucking brass knuckles? Nah, fuck that. Game is good where it is. Just needs maps to be added more regularly, and a new boss, new events, all the kind of shit that KF1 got over time.

Perks that give stacking damage bonus if you go from light->heavy->bash/stab, bonus damage if you hit different limbs in succession (because who wouldn't want to quarter a Fleshpound), etc.

So the same melee-heavy playstyle as Zerk, but much more emphasis on damage and less on tanking.

There's no loadout variety for Zerk. It's one of the most rigid perks. You either go Pulv or Evis late game now that Evis is buffed into melting bosses. You can buy Medic Pistol or even a C4 to fill up extra inventory spaces but that's it

The other Zerk weapons are literal memes. Katana is an intermediary you won't have for long. Mace and Shield loses cleanly against big guys VS any other option. Zwei is a shittier Pulv, nobody buys it instead of asking for 300 extra dosh and just getting the Dosh

If you haven't done a shove in a while (there's a cooldown to them stumbling on hit), you can stumble the Husk before it starts firing. This is much easier to do with the speed + regen perk instead of the 175HP perk

I know how to fight them, but Husks are easily the deadliest zed to a zerk on HoE. You can ignore Skrakes until the end of the wave, Fleshpounds are piss-easy to parry, sirens have retarded AI and either scream 30 feet away, or don't scream at all, and bloats are only dangerous if the map has tiny corridors that you can't get around them on.

HoE has an unexpected advantage in that it will intimidate beginners away. You're more likely to find people who drop dosh so Medic can get AR early, people who heal instead of self-healing with the syringe, people who leave ammo pickups to perks that need it, etc.

The last two waves are always the most dangerous, since boss waves are so easy now

Make a very overpowered team, 2 Medics, 2 Zerks, + 2 whatever (Firebug can work here)

The boss wave is the easiest of any map if it's any consolation. You just run in a circle and as long and you don't get stuck too often, the boss can't do shit

I leveled everything legit because back then it wasn't known if these maps were going to get whitelisted so I was afraid I could have my CD-key banned or something

I still recommend people to level everything legit, you get insights about the perk that way and even if you never intend to play them, you will know what you can expect from others, what are the difficulties they will have, etc.

Firebug is underrated as fuck
He can singlehandedly cover 1-2 entrances until the big guys arrive, he can carry two flamers and has nice crowd control (sometimes bad when your friends are trying to aim at the big ones panicking because of fire)

His true power shines when he sets the ground ablaze and focuses something else until it extinguishes, then switching back and forth.
Even when chased, he can knock enemies back with a perk (truly a lifesaving ability)

Firebug is AWFUL against the bigger enemies, even with the microwavegun, so his usefulness at later rounds mainly comes from his ability to simply clean an entire room of bodyblocking zed without even needing to aim. If paired with someone who's good at dealing with scrakes and FP, it makes HoE a piece of cake.

Personally, it's my favorite class, it's satisfying to just tap mouse to create a wall of fire that can potentially kill 4-8 zed giving you the best ammo cost efficiency second only to zerker

If you play crouch + ironsights perk Railgun SS you shouldn't bully your trash clearers, they're the ones that allow you to delete big guys in peace

Then again, it's perfectly possible to play SS with such a spec and still defend yourself. The same goes for the demo. Every perk is rather self-sufficient, I never expect people to "get trash off me", I'm thankful if it happens but on pubs I'm always counting only on myself

Switch to knife and parry/block while the Medic pumps you with darts. You can also self-heal with the syringe between his melee barrages for some extra survivability if you're a cheeky cunt, but it's risky and takes some timing

It's unbelievable how many people I've seen that try to sprint from his melee barrage, or decide to go into a "last stand" of sorts and unload everything they have, including grenades. You CAN survive it, even if you're not Medic/Zerk

They feel like they're powerful on the lower difficulties because you can tap the lighter zeds with one or two shots and have a chance to light its buddies on fire too at significant range. You can make a decent wall from farther than flamer rage for example and dumping always feels fun. I find it handy to handle bloats and sirens in a few shots well out of their effective range. Ultimately you can usually get the job done with the Caulk or Flamer, but even having just one can be handy.
