>5/10 top selling steam games are early access multiplayer survival games
Why are these games still so popular?
>>385336889
It's the current zeitgeist. Darwinism, survival of the fittest, the weak should fear the strong etc. People dreaming of the end times.
>>385336889
Just the new fad all the mobakiddies found.
Because people forgot about camping
nu-gen, it's good I was born a decade later
>mostly positive

>>385336889
It's what's currently popular among normalshitters.

mostly positive is exceedingly good for this type of game, most of them are "mixed"

>5/10
I count 4 on your list. Which is also tailored for your region.
>Battlegrounds
Not a survival crafting game. Arena combat.

This is what passes for arena shooters now?
>>385336889
cause the cancer goes there
People getting ready for when Trump gets elected for a third term.
>>385339149
It's a large arena, but it is by all accounts arena combat. I don't have a better name for "video games in a similar vein to the concept of the Hunger Games."

This type of game is excellent at presenting itself to the lowest common denominator. You see it with the numbers it's showing now, and even on a board of faggot contrarians like /v/ it is even being praised. It's simple and that's what people want as a majority. Same reason a ton of games are popular. There will always be an option for a game with more depth and difficulty but that is why they won't be as successful. Look at MMOs, the two top dogs are both dreadfully easy with very light grinds to then.
Just keep supporting the games you want to be supported because you'll never stop the masses from doing what they do.
