I'm trying to get good endings in all the classic Sonic games before Mania comes out. I normally don't replay StH because it hasn't aged so great, but I figured I'd go for all the emeralds anyways since I don't think I've ever bothered to get the good ending. Maintaining 50 rings with all the stage hazards and no spin dash is hell.

Sonic 1 is my go-to Sonic game. I love all of the original Genesis style Sonic games, but Sonic 1 is the one I leave in my machine all the time by default.

Actually, it's the Sonic 1/Sonic 2/Mean bean Machine combo cart, but Sonic 1 is the one I default to.

Yeah, it sucks that 3&K is so unavailable due to some copyright concern over the music rights. It's not my favorite Sonic game anymore, but it's still good for a playthrough every once in a while. A remake with 3D and other options added would certainly add a lot more spice to an old game.

You're probably south american or european: Its called Mega Drive in SA or EU. In USA its called Genesis. They are both the same system.

S3C is a ROM hack. You need an emulator, the recommended one is Kega Fusion. You can easily find it through google.

I love that we now live in an age where a Sonic game can be created just to appeal to older Sonic fans. It would have been nice to see a game like this for the Saturn back in the day, but the demands of the market at that point in time would have prevented such a thing from existing.

I haven't tried the mobile version but IIRC the spindash in Romhacks also had a (pretty high) chance of you accidentally triggering his parts falling off animation and hurting you anyway.

I remember most of the time I just rolled them over like in the original game because I found it to be safer.
