It's a remake of 1 but it's more like 2.
More "Silent Hill is where you go to confront some deep mental traumas" and less "Silent Hill is home to a cult trying to summon hell on earth and fucking shit up".
Also shit puzzles, no combat, lot's of waggling and running.

It has some neat gimmicks and cosmetic changes but the core gameplay doesn't change a bunch. There's about... 5 or so possible archetypes you can fit into and the enemies, environment and some events will change depending on the sorts of things you do, say or pay attention to in-game.

Cool concept but doesn't matter all that much.
Before starting each sequence of chapter, there's going to be small psychotest, your input will alter the game but the change usually is very subtle.
