I think Yu from Persona 4 fits that criteria. He lived in Inaba for a year because his parents had work related stuff to do to where they needed him to live with his uncle. He was ready to go back after the year was up. From what it seems like too, nothing tragic happened until the killings in Inaba started, but that's not connected to his past.
