And when I want to go back to it I don't remember what the fuck happened so I have to replay that 10 hours, but I drop again at the same point or earlier.

For some reason, I just can't bring myself to finish a game, even if I was enjoying it all the way until that stopping point. I still need to finish FFXV, Fallout NV, NuDoom, and among many other things.This is why I often play fighting games or something that's quick to pick up and play.

i did that with tales of zestiria but that's because the characters were pissing me off and i didn't care how the story ended

I don't know why I did it, I intended to finish it, I just put the game down one day and never went back to it.

Yeah I did this with the new DOOM. Played it for one long fun session, was like "hey, cool, this game is fun". Then next day I was like "eh, not today". Happened to me in the past month with stardew valley and terraria. It was going to happen with Dark Messiah of Might and Magic but the game is short enough I only had the last level to finish and Xana's sultry voice kept me hooked long enough to beat it.

Sometimes the initial interest lasts for a couple days, like with Mount and Blade I played for 12 hours like 3 days in a row, installed some mods and then got bored.

I blame the thousands of hours I've spent on MMOs.

Fuck, what a drag of a game. I tried to get into the DLC areas because that was when I was at the proper level but by that point I was just fucking sick of it.

It falls apart at the last area. After beating the final boss, you literally get a prompt to choose your ending.

Final Fantasy IV DS for me. Not because I suddenly lost the urge to finish it, but the final area is so fucking hard and I screwed my playthrough by not giving Rosa Omnicast, and I didn't want to grind or start over.

I did that with FFVII, IX and DQVIII (which I'm technically still playing but for some reason I cannot bring myself to fight the final biss)

Metroid Prime 3 and Final Fantasy X come to mind. Got to the very of both games and just sort of lost interest.

That there's only a few items doesn't mean I still don't feel compelled to scour the lava plains full of dragon asses and check the entire perimeter of the area. It's not like I was using a map, I did my scouring manually.

I did the same thing in Blighttown and even scoured those tunnels in Bloodborne's Nightmare Frontier full of squids as well as that poison swamp beneath the Clinic. That there's barely anything of value doesn't make it easier to be thorough.

And I'll probably do it with Persona 5.

I've also had to force myself to go back and beat Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, and Dark Cloud after not playing them for years.

I guess I just don't care about endings to RPGs.
