I need a bitchin' chair that will put up with my extensive neck beard computer sessions.
-it gets hot as hell where I live
-needs to be comfortable as shit.
-budget isn't really an issue
-I would rather not go angst fag MLG gaming chairs with the autistic seatbelt holes.
Show me those recommendations.
i just use a couple of milk crates
anyway, serious answer: just go down to staples or office max or whatever, and they have chairs right there that you can sit in and see which one is comfy
I unironically use a basic oak dining chair similar to pic related and it's actually really comfortable for extended gaming sessions and doesn't hurt your ass or your back like other chairs do, plus it gives you great posture for leaning forward instead of most chairs that are designed for you to just sink back in them
>>385268094
Don't get a gaming chair
A gaming rug is much more effective, you can get good ones for just $300
>>385268439
Advice on top of this: Don't get fabric. The cushion will wear down faster than a leather chair's will, and stains happen. You know damn well how.
>>385268480
This literally hurts me to think about. I cannot stand this over 15 minutes.
>>385268094
buy any chair you want
put towel on chair
take clothes off
sit on chair
if u get sweaty just wash the towel
go to ikea and buy a markus
>>385268094
IKEA Markus. If else, then you are just trying too hard to get comfortable.
>>385268640
like everything but the arms on the markus, too short so I can't rest my elbow on the back of the arm. replaced them with the arms from my previous chair and now it works great
>>385268094
Just use an office chair, I use pic related and it has never given me a problem
>>385268568
It's actually really comfortable, especially once you get used to it (only takes a few days). I can sit in it for 6-8 hours with no discomfort
>>385268640
>IKEA
>>385268480
>sitting in geometrically impossible chairs
>>385268094
Here are your definitive options
A) Go to a local office supplies store and try shit out.
B) Get a popular chair like Ikea Markus.
C) Get a popular but expensive chair from Steelcase or Herman Miller
As a wildcard, get a Dxracer ONLY if you find one on a massive sale, which are as good as or slightly better than your run off the mill office chair like Markus but nowhere near actual high-end office chairs like HM and Steelcase.
Go to a used office supply store and buy something from an actual nice brand like Steelcase or Herman Miller. You can get something like an Aeron or a Leap v2 in great shape for like $300 and it will last a decade or more.
>>385268640
Or get this if you want no cushioning and to fuck up your back by age 30. I had this for two years, so glad I upgraded from this piece of shit.
>>385269193
Also, missed the "budget not an issue" part.
If that's truly the case, get either a Steelcase Gesture, Leap, Aeron, or Embody. Those are the chairs to consider if you're truly rolling in it. Gesture is pretty god tier and what I ended up going with myself. I work mostly at home and I'm at my desk for like 12 hours a day either working or playing vidya when I do and there's basically no pain after like there was with the Markus. Got really lucky and caught a deal on mine though, they are FUCKING expensive new. Probably worth it, but expensive.
>>385268480
>great posture
>leaning forward
Pick one.
>>385268094
Computer chairs are a meme.
>>385268094
Herman miller mirra 2. That's all you have to know.
>>385269461
Yeah it's a chair designed for dining which is the same posture you use when gaming.
Just got this for $100 off at Staples (the "Hyken" chair), did I fuck up? I've never had a mesh chair before, only fabric and leather.
>>385269629
>same posture you use when gaming
Says who?
>>385269762
That actually looks badass
I sit on an exercise ball most of the time. It's actually helped my posture a lot. When I'm too sleepy and need to be comfy while on the computer then I bust out my basic office chair.
>office chairs tension is broken
>have to put a hundred pounds of weight to it to get it to recline
help bros, sitting in a fixed position is awful
>Tfw no arm rests
>Backing isn't tall enough to rest head on
>Have to put a blanket or pillow on my lap to relax
>More comfortable in my shitty car than in my room
At least the chair is a nice color ;_;
>>385269762
I would rather pick a shitty mesh over the best leather. You did good.
>>385269762
Will confirm that this is a great chair. Nice and sturdy and comfy for a long time.
GOAT chair checking in
>great posture
>no slouching
>great for intense gaming where you want to be alert, upright and focused instead of lounging back
>comfortable for hours
>better for your body
>>385268567
Goddamn. Every chair I own is stained with spit and cum. Wonder what my family and friends think.
>>385270383
>Have Scoliosis
>get noticeable back pain if I'm sitting for more than 30 minutes due to the chair's posture
> have to do exercises to fix my back.
Any recommendations?
>mfw my gaming "chair" is a shitty ikea chair with non padded armrests from well over 5 years ago now
I literally don't care about anything else. I have boney as shit elbows and need a passed armrest. This is fucking torturous
Get some used professional office chair nigga from real brands.
You can get professional grade chair made for sitting 24/7 with the leather or mesh replaced like pic related for 300€.
This is the chair I own and it's goat you literally cannot find better, I couldn't care less about it being used.
Do not listen to the memers and bullshit about gaming chairs and shit this is the only real way out to relieve your back.
Get a Haworth or a Herman Miller used off of an ad posting site like craigslist or something. You'll be able to get them for fractions of the price because offices go out of business and get rid of all their chairs.
>>385269762
I have the same chair, very happy with it. It even allows you to lean back in it for maximum comfort.
>>385269762
>Did I fuck up
Sort of. Staples doesn't have any good chairs.
>>385271021
Remember when /v/ shitposters used to be funny?
What the fuck is up with the new "be as angry as possible" shitposting trend
>>385270828
go swimming,
also do that exercise where you sit on a chair like 25 from the floor so you have grip on your feet and move a weight back and forth in front of you with your arms while keeping your back straight
basically this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9YEhExhdi4
focus on keeping the back straight and you can just move a weight back and forth for starters
>>385271685
I mostly bike-ride. Good thing is that I just started swimming like 2 weeks ago.
>been using the same chair for 13 years
>the padding has compressed down to nothing
>the once-soft cloth is now hard with filth
I could probably get a new chair
>>385269437
>Steelcase Gesture
>1000 dollars for something to plant your ass on
Like, what the fuck? Who has this kind of money to waste on a fucking chair of all things
OP here. Some craigslister is selling this bad bitch. "Eurotech Ergohuman Mesh Chair" for $200. Seems like a pretty good deal.
If I get a headrest separate for an Aeron chair, which should I go with?

>>385270346
Fuck that chair, fuck it in its wooden asshole.
Had that in college and remember it as the worst chair I've ever had.
>>385268534
I've been sitting on the floor a lot lately during my vidya sessions. Maybe a comfy rug is all I needed.
>Spending more than 100 dollars on a chair
You faggots realize you're not meant to spend all day sitting right?
>>385272765
>being in pain vs not being in pain
>>385272870
If you're in pain sitting in a normal chair for an hour, you're a fat fuck and have health problems
>>385272958
Or, you know, your chair just sucks and would like a better one.
>>385268439
those stores dont exist in my country, but thanks i guess
>>385269762
Best chair that staples has, I work at the shithouse and anyone that has bought it legit loves it
Get something nice from Herman Miller. Don't cheap out on it, and don't get those stupid "gamer racing" chairs.
>>385274918
herman miller is basically just the overpriced gaming chair of offices
>>385275140
Worth every dollar though. When my existing chair is done I'm going to pick one up.
>>385272127
Considering how much time I spend at my desk, I do. I caught a deal on it and paid $400, but I was considering buying it new. You don't cheap out on things you live in. Task and mattresses specially are worth spending money on. It's why even shitty, broke offices generally give workers something okish at minimum.
>>385268640
God tier chair, its also hot where i live op, its suports everything, and informs great posture
>>385272127
>Who has this kind of money to waste on a fucking chair of all things
Or, here's a thought, people have a job that enables them to buy things they want.
>>385275140
I also see them in many studios/audio-post houses. Love them as long as I'm not the one paying.
>>385268816
My issue is I get restless and I need to change my sitting position after a certain amount of time so I enjoy being able to adjust my chair or swivel around a little to kill some pent up energy. It's not that I'm not active, but I come home from work and don't wanna do shit .
>>385268094
your choices are: ikea markus, aeron C, mirra 2
if you buy anything else you're retarded.
>>385269762
I would have bought one if they were more adjustable, I'm 6'3" and that headrest is fucking useless.
I ended up buying the Staples 1500TM chair (also sold through Quill and a couple other places)
Adjustable as fuck, good lumbar support, sturdy as shit. I was having trouble finding anything cheap and used from Hermann Miller so I paid $250 for this and I don't regret it.

Sick chair.
