Sometimes its nostalgia but people who think there aren't a shit ton of truly aged like wine games are idiots. I played Riptos Rage for the first time in 8 years and i was having nothing but pure joy. Its aged graphically yes but everything else is so perfect.

Alot of PS2 and Gen 6 games have also aged like wine gameplay and some graphics. Digital Devil Saga/Nocturne still look great since their art style is so soothed over.

I started playing games in like 95/96 but Ninja Gaiden 2 was my first true git gud game that broke something in me. I beat that shit on MNM doing all tests of valor like 6 times and spent 500 hours total with it.

Something about it felt like the lifting weights equal to playing games. And ever since then most games are even more fun since i think of them on technical levels. Its made me alittle more jaded towards games with shallow mechanics but i still enjoy games like Souls games. Although Souls kiddies don't understand hard if they think that shit is hard its not even Mentor mode hard.

If you played objectively high quality games when you were little, it's normally not nostalgia blindess. But there is SO MUCH mediocre shit people claim to be as good as the pinnacles of the medium because they refuse to see how shit those games are.
