There's no getting around the Church being dickish in CV3's plot. That said, obscuring Trevor's faith and particularly making Sypha some sort of magic gypsy was a tacky fucking move, when the Belnades/Fernandez clan has always provided the Church with holy witches to fight evil. If they ever do an adaptation of another game with a Belnades in it they're going to have a lot of backtracking to do.
>>385260182
You died like a bitch. So shut up.
>>385261391
Ukoback soul suck ass tho.
>>385261873
Maybe when they defeat dracula they will be considered heroes and be accepted by the church or something like
>>385261665
I am kinda OK with the church being dicks due to the backstory with Lisa, but I am really hoping that the "LOLZ THE CHURCH IS THE BAD GUYS" stuff gets left behind when they make more episodes.
>>385260182

You asked for hard, not fun. Both of this modes are all about doing all levels perfectly, since you can only take one or two hits before dying.

I love this when this happens.

ironically for as easy as it is, the final dracula battle is really hard if you fight it legitimately

why even live.
why is time stop such fucking trash in aria of sorrow? what a waste of such a cool ability
>>385265007
is it really not worth playing?
>>385269450
It's not a particularly good game, but it can be fairly enjoyable if you use a map and know how to pass the cryptic parts. After all, the controls still feel just like CV1 and CV3, so at least it plays pretty well. It was just a very underwhelming followup to CV1 and a failed experiment, but the degree to which it sucked was blown out of proportion by the internet, in my opinion. All in all, you won't miss much if you skip it, but if you've got nothing else left to play of the series, it might be worth a try just to see.
>>385268080
You can use your mouse for the touch screen bits.
>>385270017
can you get past the cryptic parts without a guide
>>385266450
castlemaniac
>>385270870
>>385270723
Probably not. The NPC dialogue is mostly useless, and what hints they do give you are pretty bad. People tend to bring the cryptic parts up whenever the game is mentioned, though, so I imagine you've probably heard about them already, like what to do with the red and blue crystals, that sort of thing. If not, I don't know that you'd be able to figure them out without a guide, but there's really only like 3 things I remember being overly cryptic needed to beat the game, the red and blue crystals being two of them.
>tfw these motherfuckers got stupidly buffed in PoR

>>385273464
Yes. But you have to do the side-quest first.
>>385273509
indeed
>>385273148

>>385274292

Yes.
I was able to actually beat the game playing the retranslated version.
>>385274528

>>385265158
Circle of the Moon and Order of Ecclesia as far as the base games go. If we're counting hard modes than Aria, Dawn, and especially Portrait are elevated quite a bit in terms of fresh runs.
>>385274614
Not really. I just went through to see if i was able to.
I enjoyed 1 and 3 more.
>>385274632

>>385274825
Fresh hard mode runs, as I said, are a lot more difficult than fresh runs in the default difficulty. Less so in Aria, but the jump is still noticeable and will be blatantly clear by the time you get to Death.
>>385274986
It is.
>>385274986

Making Alucard fight a boss originally from Kid Dracula is actually pretty chuckle worthy if you ask me.
>>385276621

I'd forgotten how fun Julius mode is in Aria of Sorrow. You really do feel like a legend.
DoS' Julius Mode is great but in different ways (leveling system, soma boss, partners, classic remixes). Julius himself gets hit with the nerf stick hard and his sprites/animations aren't that great.

>>385281359
Symphony or Aria.
>>385260182
She has to be the most fucking worthless villain in the series. Most of the villains in Jackie Chan Adventures were more menacing than her.
>>385282726
You don't even get to fight her.
where do I go after getting zephyr's soul
>>385281256
I think so. Give it and LoD a shot since the both games have different level layouts.
>>385283328
That's what I'm saying, aside from bringing the fire retard and the russian faggot to the castle I don't thing she does jack shit. Every time you see her she talks shit and vanishes while laughing like a dumbass. Even if her plan succeeds and Soma goes nuclear, she gets bitch slapped instantly. What the fuck did you expect you mongoloid, you pretty much just revived Satan and expected him to let you suck his cock. Fucking idiot.
>>385284420

Man I'd love something like that for PoR, that artist seems pretty decent. Celia is actually attractive in this. Not that it matters that much but fuck the default portraits.

Gameplay wise it makes no difference, but it just looks nicer yeah.
>>385287421
The same group is also doing PoR.

Oh shit. I love all three DSvanias but I have a soft spot for PoR, and while it doesn't bother me as much as DoS (don't ask me why) the stupid anime art can still go fuck itself. Can't wait.
