I never said they'd die quickly, 5 years is plenty of time. But as we've seen, CoD has been on the downward slope. MW3 was panned, Ghosts was panned, Advanced Warfare got some attention but didn't get too big, Infinite Warfare was considered weird to most normies and WW2 appears to be a desperate attempt to go back to what got the series popular in the first place.

Obviously the series has lost some steam since MW2, yes, that's true, but they're still one of the top franchises in the world as long as Zombie Infinity Ward isn't making the games. CoD fans have figured out to just tune out when those guys are in charge at this point.

Afaik, DaS3 was the final entry in that IP. They'll probably keep making Souls clones, but no more of their games should have that in the title. Bloodborne is a perfect example of this working and it'll most likely be happening again.
