For noctis, I agree. The lads seemed to change in behavior as I unlocked their skills. The trick for me was to do it in bursts, which made the changes more noticeable. If Noct only was allowed to use new weapon classes beyond the basic swords as he got the Royal Arms that corresponded to them maybe? Or perhaps have the moveset unlock as you gain certain experiences (e.g. 25 succesful phase-dodges and you can block, 50 blocks and you can parry, 100 parries and maybe you can link strike out of the block if the boys are lined up).

tbqh I didn't even care about half of the shit that poll was offering. Playable Aranea and Iris? Multiplayer mode? More DLC? Sure, it might have been cool for the first few hours but it doesn't really change how poor the game is in its current state.

Yeah, I was mostly talking about Noctis. The techniques for the others are fine, but I do think the AI could be a lot better.
Needing to unlock new weapon classes would probably just mess up the entire weapon-switching gimmick. The latter idea would be a better implementation, what with the skill tree and all. I think Kingdom Hearts also does something similar? Whatever. Still, it'd be an improvement. Noctis is basically a god from start to finish and it makes him boring to play.

The fucking Armiger also needs a work around. Noctis doesn't really have the cool finishers you'd see in other ARPGs and the Armiger is just weak and ineffective. I don't even think I could grasp the mechanics because the game seemed to be playing itself whenever I triggered it.

To be honest, we got pretty much that without the FNC connection and combat being more akin to other Tabata games, but still. Looking back at the trailers before XV as well as Nomura's interviews I'm fairly certain the political undertones were always going to take a backseat to the bro trip (which was in as early as 2008.)

Recent storyboards from an event a few days ago showed some more of Ferrari's storyboard pics which were from "may 2013" FFXV, which imply that the game was gonna start out at Hammerhead too, or at least Noctis was there alone at the beginning/early on in the game

I think maybe it started out with Noctis going to hammerhead alone to do some errands, then he headed back into Insomnia for the peace treaty
