It's always done poorly in video games because video game writers are embarrassing, pathetic retards.

It is ALWAYS too "on the nose" much like how game writers handle comedy.

Video game writers have no idea what the word subtle means anymore, seriously. They are completely and totally lost, it's conditioning from the audience/fanbases though. They have to be very very specific and tell exactly what is going on in games because people who play video games are absolute morons and if nothing is spelled out for them, they have no fucking clue and just don't care. And that's not just for romance that's everything.

It will always be a joke in video games.
