The Zero Suit was a trash design to begin with and shouldn't have ever been a thing outside of the end scene of the game. It's generic and boring and it doesn't look like Samus.
The heels are fucking stupid, but at least it was the first time since it was created that it hasn't looked overall worse than when it was first designed.

The heels being stupid goes beyond design though. She's such an inconsequential character that they can literally just slap some nerf shit on her feet and say 'samus has some rocket boots now' and change her design because they wanted to give her some different moves. You couldn't do that shit if a character was even remotely iconic, so she shouldn't be in Smash at all.

Other M is legitimately not canon. No previous GFed missions means M1, M2, P2, and P3 didn't happen. Space pirates being dumb animals without Mother Brain means Super didn't happen because dumb animals can't clone a highly advanced organic computer. There's also some talk of whether or not the powersuit contradicts Fusion but it's been too long for me to remember if that's really accurate or not. I do however remember that Other M contradicts its own power armor rules because Samus' suit is only supposed to be vulnerable when she's not concentrating on keeping it there but Adam makes that shit disappear with one shot just after she's finished getting her shit together and is about to kill a metroid.

I fucking wish. At least Jayne Mansfield looks striking and has features that are distinctive about her. She's got exaggerated proportions and her look is a bit reminiscent of Barbarella and the same sort of awkward early sci-fi the original suit design was based off. There's something to work with there. ZSS seems like she had no thought put into her at all.
