It had an outstanding effect on my Japanese. It's a faster way for learning japanese.
I learnt 2000 kanji and their meanings in 3 month.
I repeat 2000 in 3 months.

You don't really need the readings as they change depending on the word.
You learn them as you go. I've never done kanji damage, but others and myself included can tell you that it works.
Also kanji koohii, speeds it up and I feel I wouldn't given up like you if I didn't have it.

Started about a week ago, I'm trying to break out of being an EOP. I'd rather take it slow than having to relearn shit. Honestly it's not so bad besides having to basically disconnect yourself from your current perspective into another one. The hard part for me is my motivation to keep pushing forward because I'm a lazy fuck. I already know what my endgame is, so if I keep chipping away I'll probably reach it.

I've come to understand German just by watching tv for maybe a year. I still can't understand Japanese outside few very common words despite all the years of watching anime.
English as a foreign language is now being taught in kindergartens because experts claim exactly what i said, since children's only role in life is learning, both from biological and society's standpoint, they pick up things faster and are more open to trying out new skills.

Dropped it after 2 months.
Enjoy learning everything and then forgetting 3/4 of it when you take a 2 week break from reading anything japanese related.

Kanji are annoying but easy as fuck to learn. Grammar isn't that had either. The biggest problem is the vocabulary but that's obviously not limited to japanese. I don't know where to learn grammar from. Even with the books I get from the university it's not that much maybe around 3-3.5k.

I feel like the best/most natural way would be to import some vocab workbooks from Japan, like whatever they actually use in school.

But even then there's no real way to replicate growing up for several years in Japan and just picking up the countless common words through daily life.

This hypothesis implies that some "innate" understanding of things is somehow more advanced than having something explained to you.

Imagine trying to understand how a computer works by taking it apart and examining every component. Or you could just have someone TELL you how every part works.

Language at a fundamental level is just rote memorisation and experience. Kids just happen to be a little better at doing boring shit for hours on end.

I happen to have a knack for languages, which I attribute to my ease with abstract concepts. Language itself is abstract.

Even in Spanish, a language that's pretty close to English and easy besides, many of my classmates just couldn't get it to click in their minds. Because it isn't just swapping English words for Spanish words.
It's grammar, conjugation, pronunciation. The very fundamentals of language are different. Specifically, different from what you've been using your whole life.

That's what people trip over. It's not the tangible pieces of the language, but the method of stringing them together.
Because it requires them to think in a different way.

The real issue is that people are taught from a young age the "best" way to learn, which is cramming facts to approximate understanding, which is what works well for schoolwork. That isn't what's good for language learning though, which is all about experience.

Young children are just more prone to actually trying out the language instead of burying their heads in textbooks.

Language is fundamentally just collections of stock phrases. While sentence structure does vary, it's nothing that difficult to grasp, and kids certainly struggle with it for longer.
