It was the Wii which won by an absolute mile, but nobody wants to fucking waggle. 360 comes second though for sure if you dont count PC. I regret the PS3 massively. It was just worse multiplats and remasters.

It was awful. More emphasis on gunplay. That wouldn't be so bad but there was a fuck ton of windows, and the maps were huge. Being shot from off screen wasn't a foreign concept when playing this game. One particular map you could get a 99 kill combo. Room were built around gunplay. So the gameplay and level design was godawful but it didn't end there. Many "mask" effects were completely useless. Keep in mind since there's a shitton of new characters the most "mask" effects you could chose from were 4. The game swapped protagonists and groups you could play as between levels a lot. One particular group of 4 you could pick from had these effects. You could either...
>roll around and dodge things (didn't work well at all. Impractical)
>start with duel sub-machine guns and spread your arms out when shooting them (arm spreading thing only really cool and useful the handful of times levels are set up for it. Impractical)
>classic tony; instant kill punches but you couldn't pick up weapons (emphasis on gunplay makes this an awful choice especially since you can pick the next person)
>control the Twins. One twin has a 1 hit kill melee chainsaw and the other follows every step behind holding a gun which you can shoot at the same time. Obviously this ones the best choice but sometimes the twin gets stuck on walls which leads to frustration
so the characters are all ass.
Finally it answers none of the interesting questions from the first one. The end of the game is pretty divisive. I loved it because literally and I mean literally everyone dies in a nuke. No warning. The russians nuke everyone. Fitting end for such a disastrous game.
The game did have a few good things though. Great soundtrack and the Hawaii sections were cool. The track that plays during the end is god tier.

I tried it, didn't like it, but why do people say it's bad? I dropped it just because I cringed way too much at the first skeleton and his bad jokes, but it did have some neat ideas and I think I would have played it for quite some time if it wasn't for that shit skeleton. I don't think I've ever seen any real arguments against the game on /v/, only "it's reddit because I don't like it" and "it's hardcore sjw pandering because your character has no known gender"

I actually enjoyed hotline miami 2 quite a lot. The level design was pretty bad but it didn't really bother me that much, only on a few levels did it get absurdly bad. Workshop levels do make the game a lot better, sadly it came out way too late so no one cared.
