So they recently added Savage to FFLogs, and out of the top 10 parses for all Savage bosses, Machinist shows up in exactly one - just barely breaking 4k. Every single other top 10 parse for all bosses has a Bard instead of a Machinist and they're generally doing 4.2 - 4.3k. The worst I saw was just shy of 4k for Catastrophe.

Truly Machinist is doing fucking great. For comparison, Dragoon shows up 15 times across the 5 bosses' top 10 list, and Warrior 10. The healers seem like a pretty even split.

Maps have always spawned a treasure chest that spawns waves of enemies and gives a reward for beating them all. Aquapolis was an instance that would sometimes appear after finishing a map in HW and Uznair is the same thing for SB. You only get Aquapolis from Dragonskin maps and you only get Uznair from Gazelleskin maps. You shouldn't do it solo but a group of 3-4 competent people is fine.

Sidequests aren't affected by armory bonus. Even FATEs will give more EXP/time while leveling alts. Plus, you lose free gear while progressing with your first job and will have to grind to keep up with MSQ's level requirements.
There is no point in saving sidequests for alts, either do them as soon as possible or just ignore them and maybe come back later when you are bored.
