I don't understand the hate this game gets. I've played every game in the series except the PSP/Vita ones because lel handhelds, and this was certainly a serviceable entry in the series.
I'd at least put it above UYA and ToD, as well as the original itself.

It's mostly the issue of comparing it to the original in aspects. Music, content, humour/characters
It's pretty good to play and I have hope there will be a full length R&C with the gameplay of Remake/Nexus, but issues from the movie itself does hurt it somewhat.

So and so. even before 2016 Bitchet and Biatch, tools of destruction had a weirder, non sensical plot to it and as Lane characters but even the future series could be considered good, average. Not the best of the series but certainly not trash. And most DEFINITELY not under ratchet and clank 2016.

Even ToD had some balls to it. The newest feels like it's been through the decrotchitizer.

For me, a lot of it comes down to pacing issues and personality deletes. Ratchet is supposed to be a hero-worshipper, but he's also sly and initally distrustful and even mean towards Clank, which goes way dark when he realized that his hero in Captain Quark is a meek fraud. Ratchet and Clank's relationship is intended to grow over the course of the first game, to establish their fire-forged friendship. Not to mention the revised story very sloppily attempts to integrate Dr. Nefarious, rather than just focus on Chairman Drek.
