If you get a follower mod that can tweak their behavior they become a lot more bearable. I set Jordis so that she basically never speaks unless spoken to or it's something actually insightful about the location we're in.

The only thing I'm iffy about is custom followers. They always try to make them "funny" or sarcastic and it always ends up being a cringiest bullshit (Sofia's number one on that shit list). I hear Inigo's pretty good, though.

I was living on my own for the first time after college so I had a tiny, cozy studio with my cat and no roommates. I can't stand this shitty combat. I don't even mind other things, but this shit is unbelievable. I'm not even asking for it to be super complex but only for it to have some sort of weight. Don't forget Dwemer. It's funny, but Trainwiz pointed out something to me: dwemer armor since Morrowind is just a bit underwhelming mostly because it doesn't look nearly as fantastic (in the surrealism sense) since Morrowind.

There's the old story where supposedly Dwemer actually DIDN'T CONSIDER armoring their own soldiers and only later refitted armors from their machines for their troops.

Morrowind armor looks like it was pulled off dwarven automatons.

Others honestly look too much like armor you'd find with any other race.

Skyrim's is a bit of a bad offender because it seems like they try to go half way and make it look like it was supposed to be some magical power armor... In the arms and feet, but not so much anywhere else.

I find that it's best to just say "fuck the lore" and turn melee into the most ridiculous weebshit possible. I'm using a two-hand katana that does energy slices with each power attack and I can do several multi-hit moves linked to my powers button. I also set the kill move chance to happened very often so at the very least I can see a neat killmove as a reward for the combat.

It's not perfect by any means, but at the very least I can tolerate it.
