I agree that DLC sucks and the final boss was shit but everything else was great and screw you hard because every boss besides the last one was pure brilliance. Plus the enemies while few in design were legit scary unlike anything after CV.
Also the Revelations games are fun and that's kind of it for me.

I was a little hyped shithead at first, spend 40 euros on it and the game was a 5 bucks run AT BEST.

It constantly appeals to nostalgia with the inventory management (trust me, you dont need to manage a shit if youre not braindead), low ammo (my ass), puzzles (my dick can make better puzzles) and le scary enemies maymay (only thing scary about them were those fucking spider guys that can one shoot my ass in the highest difficulty setting). Game is short as shit, like 9h first playthrough with the hardest dif. after that you could make another run trying to save the other bitch, but it wont change much so you just uninstall it and forget that you´ve spent all that dollars into that stupid crap, falling for the epic hype bait.

RE7 isn't really worth any praise. It doesn't do anything unique and anything that was done was done better in other games before it. Unlike the other titles it doesn't have re-playability either as it was developed for the youtube let's play/reacts crowd during the height of spooky walking simulator shit they were all doing. I liked a few elements from it but overall it was a pretty weak entry that even Capcom doesn't care about now.

Why is /v/ so dead-set at being contarian? Resident Evil 7 was great, and in fact, the only Resident Evil game that's actually bad IS six. Worst guns, worst inventory system, level design was horrendous in every campaign except Chris', the one redeeming quality is Mercenaries and 5 still had better mercs levels and characters to choose from. 6 is a trainwreck and I'm not sorry, I'll never apologize to or bargain with anyone who likes it above any other mainline RE title.

RE6 was good outside of that hour long unskippable playable intro that rips the controls out of your hands every minute to show you lolsoawesome pans of whatever action. Once you get to the actual game parts, the slowest part is the five minutes of tutorial in Leon's campaign, then it goes back to being RE5.

I never understood /v/'s problem with RE7 other than the board doesn't like shooters in general. I had a blast and it felt a lot more horror oriented than anything recent in the series. For all the bitching about a lack of horror, this was a return to form. The fact that the japs were able to nail the feel of Southern storytelling so well is a feat in and of itself. The PC version also played surprisingly well.
