All have very repetitive/empty gameplay. Skyrim is full of reused assets, every quest and dungeon feels the same, characters and story is shit.
Witcher 3 is a mess full of ideas that do not fit each other and developed just enough to be a marketing point.
Will not even mention Horizon. Pretty landscapes but that's about it. It's just another generic open world Ubishit game clone.
Why western devs waste SO MUCH money? GTAV costed fucking $250 million dollars. Any competent company could make a game of the same quality for $100 million.
I get that marketing is expensive but holy shit.
If two AA Japanese games can top almost every Triple A western game in recent years then something is wrong here.

GTAV has an absurd amount of voice acting, motion capturing, a ridiculous engine that allowed for a game of that size and scope to run on last gen consoles and more production values than practically any other game in existence. And it shows seeing as how it continues to print money even years after release.

Nier Automata is a bloated mess that do not fit each other and developed just enough to be a marketing point, it doesn't have pretty landscapes but sold because teens wants to wank at 2B. Both have repetitive gameplay and is lazily made.
