My brother bought it for me and i saw that the gameplay was more like a ninja gaiden than a souls game,
and even if it's weeb shit it's fun and immersive.

Just understand /v/'s general opinion is that challenge = fun. DmC is actually the most fun DMC game, it just isn't challenging or mechanically demanding. But it's definitely fun, the visuals are some of the best, and the script is surprisingly less cringey than every other DMC game, albeit still pretty cringey.

So I never played 2, but I played the other 3. The other scripts were incredibly cringey. It didn't seem that way when I was 16, but I kept the games and replayed them. I love them, but they're pretty fucking bad in terms of writing. At least DmC is coherent and it's one-liners are appropriate

Nah. As someone who deeply hated DmC, DMC2 is on a completely different level of shit. Nearly fell asleep.

The sad part is, if they had made the hit feedback on the sword decent and introduced good devil arms, even if just rehashing 1's, DMC2 would be leagues better. Sure, the rest would still be shit, but that alone would make it somewhat bearable.

The dialogue and writing is, no joke, the actual worst thing I have ever heard in audio-visual medium. It's not good, and it's not so bad it's good, it's not even just mediocre, it's cringey and awful.

Aside from that, it plays fine. Doesn't hold a candle to the originals but if you ignore that, it's okay. I always liked the visual design on the different levels, that should've been used in a better game since it really has nothing to do with Devil May Cry.

Alright look, none of the other Devil May Cry games have great writing but they range from unintentionally goofy to intentionally goofy.

DmC's dialogue is just bad. Like really bad, and made worse with constant swearing and such.

In what. fucking. universe is that "coherent" dialogue? I couldn't believe it when I saw the trailer. It's one thing if it was goofy or generic, that's just awkwardly put together like a child wrote it. Like if I wrote it 10 years ago at the time. And it only got worse when I actually played it, everything anyone said in the game was that level of maturity and to me it came out kinda awkward.

Now you can of course bring up DMC1's "Fill your dark soul with LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT" but again, that was just goofy semi-engrish from a game that- for all its blood and demons and death, still acknowledged that goofiness. 3 was full of awkward moments but they were all intentional, THAT was young Dante. Young Dante was not an edgelord swearing at everyone, he was trying to look cool and at times he did whereas other times he tries too hard and you're meant to laugh at him. This was even a thing in DMC4. Nero in DMC4 was a generic anime shonen guy who took everything seriously, but then Dante returns and he's cracking jokes and his pre-boss encounters are comedy skits. It's parody with wit. What does DmC have?

Like, the old games were written by gooks with a secondary grasp on english. DmC was explicitly outsourced to an ENGLISH developer, no excuses.

And Donte swearing at everyone actually could've been done well if they played it like DMC3/4, where all the other characters are just confused and annoyed by how he acts and Donte acts like that to put everyone off-kilter. Instead the tone of the game is pretty dead serious and everyone talks like that.

How? I'm a massive casual that can't beat DMC3 and DMC4 on Hard and struggle on Normal, but really? DmC's gameplay nearly put me to sleep.

You can barely even combo due to the awful mechanics and air juggling isn't even fun. And if I hit something for more than 5 seconds I get an SSS straight away.

Devil May Cry 2 isn't even a bad game I don't know why you faggots hate it so much.
