Bigger environment, more enemies, the RE7 monsters were shite, less shooting parts and bosses. Cut down heavily on the scripted scenes which RE7 is heavy on in the first hour as they do damage to replayability. Random events more to increase tension and fear in multiple playthroughs. Lots more re walking through the same areas to unlock doors and seeing how those areas have change through the game.

It can't be as good because its likely they will rework the whole gameplay style. Either RE4 over the shoulder, or first person. REmake came out 2002, not that long after the original game and during the period of RE2/3 before RE4. RE2 Remake has zero chance of being like Remake.

Resident Evil Remake is worth that much easily, and I heard that Dead Rising 2 OTR was good, but everything else looks like trash. RE0 is a mediocre at best RE game, that Umbrella corps game is some awkward RE E-Sports nonsense that Capcom shat out randomly, and RE6 is RE6.

Now play RE1 through 3 and Silent Hill 1 through 3, they're the best survival horror games out there.

Also Resident Evil 1 is still worth playing, even if you've already beat the remake. The game's structre is different from REmake and it has a lot of different puzzles in comparison to REmake. REmake also added a few new areas, so playing one after the other is a fun experience due to how the games mess with your expectations when it comes to puzzle solving.

I love RE2, it was my first RE game and my first survival horror game, I've completed it too many times to count

but in all honesty, REmake is better
especially in the horror department due to the lighting, camera angle direction, and sound design

That's highly unlikely dude. Capcom only made RE4 the way it was because of how poorly REmake on the gamecube sold. Now that they've seen how well the HD REmake has sold they're going to be much more willing to keep it faithful.

They'll probably have an option to turn off tank controls, but I highly doubt they'll give it a full on RE4 control scheme.
