The thing that makes different build viable is the variety of stuff to do. Some builds just aren't as good as others for some stuff (large scale pvp such as ZvZ and Gvg) which some build aren't as good for small group pvp, and other aren't good for things like pve content.

The only p2w aspect is gold. You can convert gold to silver. But you can also convert silver to gold. So there's a stock market type system with the gold/silver market. You buy premium, which is almost required to play, but you can buy that with either gold or silver. Your first month is included anyway, so it's like eve and plex.

Any class can be viable. The only piece of armor which matters is your chest which gives you stat bonuses for what you're doing. The other pieces of armor can be mixed and matched for utility spells and what not. There isn't really a meta and there are a lot of viable classes.
