I know there are necromancer and undead invaders but did toady finally add the ability to learn necromancy in fortress or adventure mode?

I never finished Original Sin, I got up to the point where the goblin introduced me to a goddess, a tapestry weaver I think, and then stopped playing for whatever reason. How is OS2 looking? I might restart OS1 and beat it if 2 looks like it's going to be a great improvement.

There are necromancer towers scattered around the world. If you play an adventurer, fight your way into the tower, and find a stone slab, reading it will let you understand the secrets of life and death and become a necromancer yourself, allowing you to raises corpses and such. You will basically become a kind of lich, but keep your skin. You don't need to eat, drink, or sleep, and the undead won't bother you. However, zombies you reanimate will attack the living, so use with caution.

so far it seems like it has a better story, more skills and playstyle variety, and other various quality of life improvements
this is just based on the early access version of the first area, though
