You can never go back. When people get nostalgic over WoW, it's usually more than just the game and the content at the time. The times themselves were different because you had a drastically different culture and community surrounding the game and in the game itself.

That's the main reason I won't play on a huge pop pserver like Elysium. The spawn rates for quest mobs and items just wasn't designed with so many people and mind and being forced to grind mobs over doing any of the quests is shit.

100% agree. I played Nostalrius from release to shutdown. I had only played BC through Cata so Vanilla was a new experience to me. I can honestly say that it was the best WoW ever was in terms of community, difficulty and satisfaction. After shutdown I needed to play more so I subbed to Legion and holy shit it was awful, everything was instant gratification and everyone was a EPIC HERO wielding lore shattering weapons and flying around finishing content as quickly as possible. Thank fuck Elysium got the Nost database.

If I was younger I'd probably still enjoy it, but now I'm in my 20s working a full-time job. MMOs take too much time for most people.

I'm never going back to retail, the magic is gone and Blizzard isn't the same company it was 15 years ago. I won't play private servers either because they're full of foreigners and run by corrupt cunts. Now I just fuck around with modding, you see all the cool shit Blizzard tries to keep under wraps.
