Because Bandai was kind of shit at making videogames. Still, DW2 was the only PS1 Digimon game I ever bothered to beat. If you managed your fusions right, the game could be a complete breeze.

I beat it like 3 times too. I just remember lots of training and getting frustrated when certain Digimon wouldn't spawn when I wanted them to join my town.

Still clueless about the mansion and ice place.

I literally thought at age 8 that all my digimon were broke when they got hit with the 99999999 wall and could no longer level up anymore.

Those level 12 and 13 digimon did not take me to very many domains, to say the least, so I dropped it for crash 1.

Yeah, I honestly don't remember if anyone in the game explains how the level caps work. I still figured it out because I think they at least tell you that fusing digimon will result in stronger ones, so I just did that.

Last time I tried the rom for DW2, I had issue alt tabbing out of Full Screen, as it would crash the game. It's been 7 years since the last time I tried, but please consider this.

Also, you'll probably have to pay 40+ USD to get a physical copy for DW2 online if you can't find a vintage vidya shop.

I actually managed to trudge all the way through this game, with no speed up or anything. My god it is long, and so full of flaws, but for whatever reason I absolutely love it. Now that I can emulate it at 10 times speed, I may replay it so I can actually get Digimon I want to use.

I think my playtime was around 70 hours, so it's still shorter than some Final Fantasy games I've played if you try to do all the sidequests. Granted, that's precisely the reason why I always give up on doing sidequests in Final Fantasy.

Yeah I would say that my total play time was in that area. It would have been longer if I tried to only use digimon I liked, but I settled for what worked.
I remember wanting to drop it, but then I got to File Island, which was enough to reinvigorate me to make it to the end.

Also fuck that little mission where you have to collect the three specific digimon to progress, that was BS.
