Unfortunately I can't see gold on steam, I guess I could just buy both, they're pretty cheap, but I'm not sure if ther's any point if I just end up only playing one if it's objectively superior.

Gold is best but it's not on Steam, buy it on GOG anon since Gold includes everything in 1 game.

I'm really wary about buying older games on Steam these days
So many of them are barely functional, I've been bit too many times
I'll usually buy older games through gog

I haven't actually bought any older games on steam, so I didn't know they were bugged? I was looking for baldur's gate, but they only sell those enhanced editions, and I don't feel like paying 20 euro for a 20 year old game.

Gold on GoG isn't expensive I suppose, but if it's just Gallean's return + Rise of the Elves, then it's significantly cheaper to just buy both of them now as they are on sale.
