If you're not sure whether you like playing on stick or not, you're going about this wrong.

Don't waste money upgrading some cheap shit with Sanwa parts, that JLF stick alone is 60 bucks, buttons are like 3 bucks a pop. Don't buy a fucking octagon gate, that's a newbie trap in that it sounds good in your head but it's really not and you're better off with a square gate.

Either jump in and gamble on a good quality stick (Qanba Obsidian or Razer Panthera probably now that MCZ is gone) or get a cheap stick just to dip your toe and don't worry about what parts it has in it, because if you end up liking it, you're going to want to upgrade to an entirely different stick anyway and then the money you spent on the Sanwa parts is down the drain basically.

Everything in the top tier is shit except for Super Turbo & Kof 98. Where the hell is the Samurai Shodown series? SS2 is clearly better than the majority of the games listed. Also I forgot to mention my toe-dipper stick recommendation, which is this, the Qanba Drone. I've used one on a few occasions, and while it's not as nice as the top dog sticks, and doesn't have Sanwa parts or anything, it's really not a bad little stick. Good quality, decent build. It's a bit light and a bit small, but overall should give you a pretty good idea of if this is for you or not, and makes a good backup or player 2 stick even if you upgrade.
