You're coming at it from a very simple perspective. WoD's game design save for garrisons was fine for the most part. The raids were good and while reward dilution existed it wasn't amplified by an autistic grind. The problem with WoD wasn't that it had some sort of fundamental flaw in it's very core design. The problem with WoD was that they attempted a yearly expansion model and when they realised it wasn't possible they didn't bother to actually finish the expansion.

So while WoD was "worse" in that it had a lack of content, it still managed to have the exact same profit as legion does as blizzard themselves even admit.

They fixed a lot in Legion but they fucked up so much more. Content doesn't matter when there's virtually no incentive to do it.

Dailies in previous expansions were typically for vanity items, some extra gold, and were able to be finished by hitting exalted. Legion is designed around an infinite progression with no completion. I've already gone over why this is retarded.

Legions dailies are objectively shit. Literally all you do is go fly to the quest, join a group, and afk. If you consider this good game design you are very likely borderline retarded.

These are hardly theories. Blizzards public numbers show that Legion has made almost the exact same revenue that WoD did. So if it's making the same money, and yet has the least PvP participation and raid guilds are quitting left and right, it would make sense to assume most of that revenue is being made up through tokens and other store items. Which would mean less sub retention and active players.
