Was pretty easy overall. It's a fucking shame they dropped the ball so hard when it came to Neo, the fight looks absolutely stunning visually, the music, sound effects, and atmosphere are perfect, but the actual fight is completely braindead shit you've seen a billion times before and easy as fuck to execute. There is absolutely not a single unique thing about it, the fight basically just looping after 50% and really only having like 4 patterns you have to learn with the final 15-20% being him sperging out and just slamming the platform was super disappointing.

D3S wasn't all that amazing either, I wish they would have done more with the minigames. Could have been pretty cool if they made them actual games instead of just stand on X when Y happens, they already had something with the Desert maze in Normal so they obviously thought about it but just didn't deliver.

How do I do it anons?

Since I got a job, I dont have much free time left. My highest class is level 64 and I'm slowly crawling to 70 but I find it hard to go forward.

I'd like to clear the new content but I always say "Meh it's not worth your time" or "I'll stop being an underachiever someday" and I always end up unsubscribing.

I know the best thing to do would be to join a Free Company that raids but I dont have any cool achievements to link or much experience to prove I'm not totally shit at the game.

I have an 8 to 4 and 2h of commute each day, doesn't prevent me from raiding. Just use your time wisely instead of randomly fucking about. 60 to 70 takes quite literally 20-25h, so if you still aren't at level cap with at least one job by now you probably just don't enjoy the game enough to actually invest into it, meaning you might as well drop it and go play something else.

NIN and BRD are deceptively strong this patch, plus our NIN is probably the best player in the party. The BRD is pretty killer too but he messes up mechs like a motherfucker. It won't feel quite as slow once you get more of your abilities and higher skill-/spellspeed later on. Still quite a bit slower than WoW obviously, but not nearly as terrible as at the start.

Content wise it depends, there's lots of things to do but since we just had a new expansion come out 90% of it is worthless as far as progression is concerned and will be very hard to find parties for. There's a metric fuckload of story content though if you are into that.
The endgame consists of 4 new raid bosses every ~7 months with some casual content getting thrown in around halfway through that cycle. There isn't really much to do compared to WoW if that's what you care about, most of the content is either very easy and simply exists to shit out vanity gear.

oh boy, you're in for a treat

But yes, there's a frankly silly amount of story content to play through and plenty of side dungeons to check out. The endgame is only really only as grindy as you want it to be, though you'll probably want to take things pretty casually. Going full autismo mode can burn you out pretty quick. Gameplay picks up in pace significantly at higher levels, as most jobs are frustratingly bare on mechanics until level 50-60 or so. If you're enjoying the game now, you may as well take the plunge.

The content drops are still the most frequent out of any MMO, FFXIV just refuses to milk it as far as it can go. Apart from the tomestone grind, which isn't even that bad mind you with how easy Savage is now for the first three floors, nothing in this game requires serious time investment anymore.

It's not a bad thing, mind you. I'm glad I have all this free time as opposed to Midas and Gordias where I raided around 4-6 times a week for 2 months for Gordias and 4 weeks or so for Midas. Extended progression is overrated and people who think that's what they want, have never actually progged a fight to its limit or are total NEETs who can spend that amount of time. Clearing O4s 2 days ago, I can relax and do my dailies while leveling the roles I want to play via roulettes and craft. For serious raiders, the super savage in 4.1 should scratch the itch of raiding content mid-even patches.

This tier is as easy as it can be, you should have no trouble finding a group. Most midcore groups will be clearing within a month assuming they aren't having scheduling issues. As for whether you feel good playing with them, what I've noticed is that good players will always eventually find their own if they really want it but you'll have to spend a while to make yourself known. My static that has since lasted from Gordias till now with only 2 reps, was born of pugging A3s and seeing each other constantly.

At this point, any semi-serious player will get Savage down. I wouldn't worry too hard about it.

Tanks are at their highest levels of raid contribution now, so probably. The gap between a shit tank and a good one has widened with skills like Shirk, Intervention, TBN. Imagine that you are born and raised in a country, when you become an adult you decide to serve that country's LEGITIMATE GOVERNMENT in the military, and then a bunch of fucking rebels of the old monarchy from before you were born overthrow your country with the help of enemy countries.
And at the end you get called a fucking traitor and butcher by rebels, are almost certainly going to be executed in a war crime because you're considered a traitor of a defunct government rather than a prisoner of war, and are publicly paraded as a fucking butcher of your own people.

If they execute Fordola then Eorzea is 100% objectively as bad as the Empire, which I guarantee is lost on the fucking writers of this game

They've done a pretty bad job on the whole reminding us that The Empire is supposed to be evil. The biggest reason thus far being that they call themselves 'The Empire'.

Even Zenos really just wanted a friend. So what if he was a murderer? We've forgiven other awkward sociopaths with gorgeous hair for less.

I haven't even stepped in to O1S yet nevermind cleared any of it. Sad since I was hoping to a while back, but then I just ended up crafting all day because I needed the money.

A friend wants to start a static with me but I really don't want to because he's bad. I'm sure he could clear it eventually but he gets so angry and doesn't listen to any advice at all.

I imagine that is going to be a big part of the future patch content. There would be tons of people who probably enjoyed life under Garlean rule and the stability they provided, meanwhile now Ala Mhigo has no actual form of government with the Resistance taking over, and they are ran by an inexperienced girl who lives by a punch first, ask questions later philosophy.

If the rebels beat the Garleans out of Ala Mhigo, they're the fucking legitimate government now, and as victors they decide who is good and bad. Fordola killed her own men, so yes she's a butcher. She worked for the Empire despite not being Garlean, so yes she's a traitor. She was a hated figure in the war for years, so parading her after she's defeated boosts morale. And it makes complete sense to execute her, not only because she was an enemy combatant, but because she can't be used as a PoW, because the Empire doesn't give two shits about her.

She is a soldier who fought and served an enemy fighting force, even when given the chance she still stood against Eorzea. She is a soldier of the Empire and thus will be treated like one, just like any Eorzean who was working for the Empire is likely to be executed for treachery .
