I like fighting games, but something about them just seems so super unintuitive. Like, fully learning a characters combos and set ups feels like you absolutely need to go into training mode and practice over and over until you can get them on a basic level. I also remember losing a bunch of SF4 matches and getting frustrated because I really wasn't sure why I was losing. I don't want to "study", I just want to improve through observing my gameplay carefully and by playing other people.

I've also always hated using a controller to input moves on a fighting game, as it has always felt very bleh, but I've never been interested enough in them to spend the dosh on a fight stick. I feel like the initial learning curb and the controls are the primary reason the genre isn't more popular.

Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator 2. It's got the most complete tutorial out of the mainstream fighting games. Skullgirls also has a good tutorial, but it's a graveyard whereas GG usually has active lobbies. If you want the biggest playerbase and most online resources to pick through, Street Fighter 5, but keep in mind it doesn't gel with some anti-virus programs.
