I remember the first time I went down into the gutter, I was using a female sorcerer and wanted to get the Black Witch set ASAP for fashion's sake. Seriously one of my strongest memories of DS2, getting fucked by those poison-spitting statues, ganked by enemies in the dark, and falling off those stupid rickety platforms all the time. In the end, it didn't even have the pointy hat with that version of the set so I didn't get what I wanted. Every character since then, I've just beelined to black gulch and had no trouble. Much less frustrating, but perhaps not as fun.
