Didn't hit me the same way since it was derivative of the last game's final boss. Even in music. There should have been a separate fight with Callie beforehand. With all the stuff that was reused I'm sure they had time to do another boss.

That being said, I got pretty hyped when they gave me the Rainmaker.

Following all the cutscenes and Yonah, rather Gestalt Yonah willfully dying in front of her father. Plus the stuff with Emil and the Warriors from Facade... it was an emotional peak. I think part of it's how repetitive most JRPG content is. Anything with different presentation & BGM automatically stands out

Then there's the slow progression through the entirety of the game--makes finally reaching the end feel like reaching the summit

The genre is very well suited to good climaxes even if the game itself isn't so good
