And the loadout system is lame, the "a or b" subclasses are perma-fucked, the exotics seen are all even less exotic than the average D1 exotic (which weren't interesting enough to start with), every single change is pointing directly toward muh MLG with no regard at all for the PvE experience.
It doesn't matter how much they tweak now, the PvP-first attitude is so deeply embedded in the game that nothing short of gutting the whole thing and starting from scratch can fix it.

It's just boing. There is a lot of debate over balance, which you always have to take with a grain of salt as many mechanics aren't in the beta and some people just have shit ideas on balance. I would agree with PvE feeling slow because of the PvP balance, but it's not complete trash and easily fixed. I like the new PvP though, more tactical. Wouldn't mind more modes with higher player counts though. Slight increase in abilities without them being spammable would be welcome.
I dont really agree with the the complaints about movement. I feel like jumping and shooting feels way better than before.
When it come to the subclass complaints, there is some good and bad. Making simple skill trees is bad compared to possibly having varied builds, but people will and have in the past, gone for optimal builds anyways. And being able to customize stats is going to done with mods rather than the skill trees, so whatever.
But bungine has absolutely fucked up with trying to appeal to people who dropped destiny early and new players, while simultaneously not showing their fanbase anything new, or letting them sink their teeth into the meat of D2.

Pretty much all the complaints are numbers issues that could be fixed by changing some values in a config file.

My issue is the class homogeneity and the balance issues.

However, when I comes to class homogeneity. I can see it turning out to be countered by player loadouts. Moving things like snipers into the power slot is going to push people towards being specialized, and the loadouts for each class in beta highlights this. I see your point. I am pretty disappointed with those changes but I do feel the strike shown has scaled the bosses to work better with the new heavy gun system. Shotguns felt pretty potent when used and all heavies seemed to carry a little more ammo. I did like the map explorations and am interested to see more, but highly disappointed the guns are just as bland and gear is now pretty much useless as shown

I have 1600 hours into destiny 1, and was severely disappointed with the game despite me putting more than a month into it. There was no grind when you got to end game (at least diablo 3 has paragon points and different seasons). The PVP became so watered down and the time to kill became less than half a second at one point with The Last Word. I was in the top one percent in both clash and trials of osiris. I was so happy to see that they made the time to kill longer for destiny 2, until i realized that even skilled players can not 1v2 in pretty much any scenario due to the lack of catch up mechanics (i.e strong grenades, strong melees, strong mobility). All in all, they ruined crucible in destiny 2 and therefore they ruined the reason I would personally buy the game. Destiny 2 is unfinished and will be unfinished in two months when it releases. The destiny franchise will always be a 60+ dollar beta

Consoles feel way more laid back and more fair to be honest because controller limitations. It doesn't look nearly as competitive as PC pro matches or anything but I definitely feel like I have a better chance of becoming great at pvp.

I like it. Most of the game's lifespan depends on PvP with the exception of the first month or two that new pve content launches so it's good on them to focus on that

They've already said that they'll fix ammo drops, making them more frequent and even guaranteed for some major enemies, same for super and grenade damage. This is allegedly an old build of the beta too

PvE is still getting shafted though. They haven't said anything about cooldowns but this is one of the major complaint points so they'll probably be on it

The rest is just an expansion of the original destiny. The A team started moving on to D2 2 years ago; you don't pull off a brand new game in 2 years

Obviously, I don't speak for everyone, but the beta is boring compared to first because it only has two missions and multiplayer with premade characters. While the first beta let you play the first part of the full game.
When it comes to changes: PvP has a longer ttk and much larger focus on Gunplay rather than supers, grenades and abilities. Also PvP is reduced to 4v4. Some people like th changes some dont.
When it comes to PvE the time to kill has also increased making missions feel slower too because of spongier enemies. How you build your loadout has changed and classes are samey for balance and more streamlined. Less people like these changes than hate it.
Overall reception: hype has been dampened, but it isn't "LITTERALLY THE SAME GAME LOL. BUNGO IS DOOMED XD". Full game might be positively received on release, because bungie has held back on all the new shit, which is terrible PR plan IMO. Abilities all charge much slower. You basically need to use your super the second you get it in order to use it a second time in one strike.

Weapon changes are nonsensical: everything that isn't a rifle/pistol is a heavy weapon now. This means the guns feel even more samey than before and now there are very simply totally useless weapon categories: why would you ever rock a sword or shotgun when now you'll have no secondary sniper rifle or fusion to fall back on for boss damage?

They've also completely gutted character customization; between the predetermined character builds and the lack of loot rolls along with the former gun limitations, they're balacing PVE for PVP.

Its not completely awful but for a game that is largely a glorified expansion there's a lot of weird design changes.

Oh shit, I forgot about the power weapons being that redundant. Even with a full magazine for a sniper or a fusion rifle I couldn't kill an Elite.
The abilities and grenade abilities though are helped by your armor, some anon had an armor piece that increased grenade regeneration and such. So I'm not too worried about that but I'm just trying to have hope that they'll fix it.

Still no word from Bungie on what's going on or what their thoughts on the "constructive criticism" is yet.

Also I have an Xbone so I have no games to play other than Destiny 2.

It was heavily buffed in other areas. It does an Arc AoE, activates much faster, and the indicator that it's usable never wears off. You can still Charge + 1 Punch to kill somebody, so it's still an easy kill if you get the jump on them. The issue with making it a 1shot is that it'd be too strong with the increased global ttk.
