We all have that one friend who pulls shit like this right? Where he's not even button mashing, he just knows exactly what's annoying and doesn't try to do anything else because it's how he thinks he wins and then when you do win, he wants to stop playing. Right?

So adapt and beat him. If you know how to play and he's spamming one or two moves over and over again, you ought to be able to easily predict what he's going to do and play around it. If you manage to kick his ass consistently enough, he'll either step up and and stop playing like a retard or stop wanting to play to begin with.
