if both players can stasis separately then you could cheese every puzzle, plus you'd be overpowered against enemies as you'd have a double-stasis - so I'm assuming only player 1 has rune abilities or something?

No one who has actually played the emulated version can say its better in current state. It is -playable-, but suffers bugged out physics, lacking particle effects and a lot of other things. There's a reason you only see 5-10 minute clips of it being played. Because watching someone emulate it from start and onwards, would just demonstrate how jarring the bugs are in a 1 hour play session
