Yes, but when you only have to render what's on camera instead of Jak 3's much larger levels, you are able to take liberties with details and the like with all the power you aren't using on the map/enemies/etc.

It's like how the newer consoles this gen are technically capable of making 4k content but getting a game to actually play in 4k outside of cutscenes is going to be borderline impossible.

Silent hill 2 and 3 still look better on the PS2 even when compared to the PC or Xbox versions after patches.
Especially SH2.
There are plenty of games that looked better on the PS3 than the competition because despite the lower specs, the PS2 had some pretty good tech to work with.

No ps2 exculsive looks as good as an xbox exclusives but may depend on the artstyle. Most of the draw distances in ps2 are pretty bad compared to xbox games.

PC fixed this a year ago already and PC/Xbox have this effect(gif related) and it's a very important effect because you're looking at the flashlight beam 99% of the game.

SH3 on PC is the same exact thing as the PS2 version, there is not a single difference except the PC version runs at 60fps.

God of War 2 on ps2 looked better than most shit on 360.

Not a single console that has been released to date has good graphics or even good looking cutscenes. Everything to this day has looked like complete and total shit compared to a well filmed movie. You fucking plebian console graphics whores are the worms beneath my feet.

It's a shame that the most of cartoon like games now a days are indies, hero shooters and nintendo games. Can't wait for knack 2 tho. Hopefully it's a huge step up from first game.
