Or at least, some levels in Crash 1 and 2 are very hard to get those times. Sometimes even unfair. The games weren't designed with time trials in mind originally. But it is doable. Just watch people doing play runs and do the same.

A tip on The Lab in case you didn't know already: when you get to the guy who shoots you, right before that bunch of TNT crates, just kill him with a slide, it will destroy all of the TNT crates behind the door and save you a lot of time.
