There's plenty of cute interesting character interactions in there if you're willing to suffer through the pain of the poorly implemented third person shooter that it's wrapped in. In my experience, I didn't find it insufferable, merely too simplistic. All around, I'm glad I played it, and I managed to enjoy the gameplay to some extent- perhaps it's because I went into it with piss poor low expectations like you will now. The antagonist is my favorite in the series, and I have a thing for all the antagonists.I think AE has phenomenal writing in that regard. If you're familiar with the anime you'll probably enjoy the experience regardless, because you must have a high tolerance.
