For me it's how fun the fights are. The whole "do or die" aspect of later hunts only adds to it, with monsters getting new attacks and dropping better loot. Also teamplay is great since do-op often adds a lot of possibilities to online play

It's like an arcade game really, the joy comes from the actual play of the game and not much else. If you enjoy boss fights and don't mind doing them over and over and over, and if you also like a taste of JRPG-style equipment progression, then it will be enjoyable. If you don't like boss fights, or if you feel that doing the same boss fights over and over is boring, and if (to a lesser significance) you don't see much in equipment progression, then don't bother with monster hunter.

I tried Ever Oasis and really disliked most of it. Simplistic combat along with tedious and boring town and party management. Tried the river City Ransom RPG and it felt aimless, and tedious when it came to exploring villages. I keep trying 3DS games but always go back to old DS or GBA games I've always enjoyed. I've lived most of the hits on 3ds like Kirby and Kid Icarus, but I'm really struggling to find a new 3ds game I'll like. Anything an Anon can recommend?

Lunatic isn't hard. Only the first few chapters in awakening are hard because of how terrible they are designed. For example fucking vaike has no goddamn axe while they send 6+ units rushing your ass on lunatic or lunatic+ in an open field where they will likely oneshot the 3 new units you are getting from that chapter alone. Another example is fucking chapter 2 where they have a bunch of risen rushing you from two directions and then decide to give a fucking mook a hammer that will destroy you on lunatic+. After the first few chapters the game gets way easier and once you're done chapter 11, the game becomes easymodo. Also the sheer amount of units and battles thrown at you in lunatic gives you way more exp I feel and that allows you to go for certain macro strategies like where I feed all kills to cordelia and sumia and by chapter 10 them having galeforce results in 6 galeforce users when the children are unlocked.

I'm okay Ng awakening now and the only fire emblem I ever played before was FE7, and honestly, I'm finding awakening harder, dunno why, even though the pairing system is expedited here so it makes things easier but honestly I'm getting my ass kicked, I missed out on talking to the thief, thankfully only character I missed out on, but I'm missing a thief now which sucks, and I lost Vaike, again only character to die for me but I really invested in him, have him some permenant str buffs and gave him a hammer and various axes.

I'm not sure what my favourite game is but I'm enjoying Pokemon Sun which is what I'm playing at the moment.

Call me a casual but I really like that it tells you how effective your moves are. Only a poke-autist would know exactly how effective each type is against all other types so this feature is extremely helpful for everyone else.

Looking forward to Ultra Sun/Moon, I guess.

Seek medical atention. I've played my 3dsXL in my living at maximum light connected to a charger, and my hands have never become even slightly warm. You've got bad circulation or something.
