What software exactly are you talking about? Every HDD transfer I know of for the 360 involves a special cable that connects one drive directly to the other, no flashdrives involved. Not saying it's not possible, but I'm not aware of the method you're using.

Hate to tell you this, but I don't think that was to back up the HDD. That backs up your save files and shit, but not the actual workings of the HDD, and your xbox account. Can you sign on to xbox live with your account? Then it should recognize that those are your files. Because it sounds like the current HDD doesn't even have your log in info, and that ties your files to you.

Or the flashdrive is fucked up. Which would suck.

i just downloaded my gamertag and still nothing.
I even tested a second flash drive with a save transfer that seemed to work just fine.
I think there was something with the original transfer that went wrong. I dont know. im bummed.

That sucks, sorry. Have you tried booting up a game and seeing if it picks up the flashdrive for it's specific save data? Also, you've tried every USB port? Sometimes one or more will fuck up.
