What's the best software for recording video games? I am looking for something like Nvidia Shadowplay that lets me record my last 2 minutes of gameplay so I can catch great moments and or cheaters and then later I'd like to make webms out of the short videos I'd take. I am not doing any streaming of any kind nor do I plan to ever.
My problem with Shadowplay was it requires GeForce Experience which forces itself to start with my computer and I consider it to be massive bloatware.
I've found the most accurate way is to film the CRT directly with a Sony CCD-TR86

I see your joke but I should probably mention I'm recording on PC just in case.

nice meme

I think OBS has a replay feature.
>>384815185
windows movie maker or bandicam
Just use OBS
Remember to activate NVENC in the options, makes performance 1000 times better

I used to have an i5 2500k and a GTX 970. I used OBS and no matter what settings I tried even on the absolute lowest and on a game that had very low requirements OBS would limit my frames to 30fps, which is the frames I was recording at.
I am using an i7 7700k now and a GTX 1080. Is it still going to limit me to whatever frames I record at?

>how do avoid installing software by installing different software
>>384817862
GeForce Experience is a botnet though.
>>384817096
obs is shit.
use dxtory or afterburner.

No idea if that's how it works, but why not record in 60 FPS?
>>384818489
Why do you say it's shit? Always worked perfectly for me.

relive
shadow play
fuck off now
>>384818006
It's the only way to get updated drivers since the website doesn't work properly.
>FRAPS is still the king of screenshots and framerate meter
Feels good bros
Shadowplay.
I dislike OBS. Even with NVENC this garbage kills my performance.

>have to enter personal info to download drivers
>>384815709
For some Game Capture on full screen games doesn't work.
I have Intel HD Graphics (fucking shinyfags ruining laptops).

>I don't know what a botnet is.
Yep, figured

I can record and stream Tekken 7 at 60fps medium settings with my i3 processor and 950 using OBS
If you have windows 10 you can use the integrated game dvr feature.
It doesn't impact at all the performance and I play on a decent laptop where recording usually takes quite a hit.
>>384819252
It really isn't. Fraps is chuggy outdated trash that hasn't been updated in 5 years.
Just use Windows game recorder
youre not a real gamer if you dont count the fps yourself

>Windows 10

t. shadowplay user
>>384815185
Shadowplay used to be best
But with moar coars becoming so common after I ditched my 6700k for a 1700x I can record 4k real time encoding and get no FPS drops at all with OBS. Shadowplay has terrible bitrate

I uninstalled the xbox app and it requires it apparently.
>>384821463
>not using dx12
cool
you know the "windows 10 is bad" meme died like a year ago right?
It's literally fine
>>384819530
Yes, you must sign into an application to take advantage of it's tools
If you want to use optimization, sign into your nvidia account or google account
Shadowplay? sign in
Want to be told when drivers are released? sign in
Don't want any of this? Don't sign in and just download the drivers from the website like a logical person
Kinda like every platform ever
I use OBS when necessary. It just requires some general know-how of the program compared to something like Shadowplay. I also like OBS for recording non-games.
>he can't use AMD ReLive
try OBS Studio
>>384823967
Oh god don't mention that shit
OBS replay buffer is the best.
Shadowplay never even worked for me on several different cards and a couple of installtions. I click ON, but it does not turn on and nothing fucking helped.
Now Experience require you to fucking sign in, so screw this bloatware.

No MS, we haven't forgotten about all your foul shit. Nice try though.
