>sequel whoring is bad
>suddenly it doesn't matter if its an old series
wtf?
sorry anon, only games post-9/11 count because that's when the internet became more widespread
MM1-6 were all good games though, and MM4 is the best of the NES games.

If you're complaining about double standards, you shouldn't be surprised considered where we are.

I think that you spelled MM2 wrong
>>384765369
If the sequels are consistently good it gets a pass. You should know this, anon.
Nobody actually likes 5 & 6
>>384766075 only pretends to like them because 7 & 8 are even worse

MM5 especially is weaker out of 1-6, but they're by no means bad games. Just not as good or memorable as the rest in some ways.
I wouldn't call MM7 or MM8 shit either, but the NES games do take a huge shit on them. MM&B is probably the best of the not 8-bit style games.
Were they supposed to release DLC stages or something?
6 is fucking sweet, I don't know what everyone is smoking. I was expecting another mediocrity fest like 5 but suddenly the levels are more interesting, there's branching paths, Jet and Power modes were pretty cool. Top tier robot masters, as well.

Why do people hate 7 and 8 when they were a logical step forwards in the series? Why did 9 and 10 disregard all the positive changes and the more modern graphics?

>MM&B is probably the best of the not 8-bit style games.
truth
No one says that. Most people only like the first 3 Megaman games. Same goes for the X series, X1, 2, 4, and 5 are the only ones worth anything. X8 gets honorable mention I suppose, but it's not something most people deny I think.

>but they're by no means bad games
This, they're only weaker because you're already familiar with the formula and don't add anything too interesting but the overall design is still way above average.

Minakuchi Engineering fucked up 3 pretty hard but c'mon, it's still worth a play
